Dr. Monique Calisti, CEO and Head of Martel Media and Consulting, manages the company’s business and leads its strategic development, combining her technical ICT background with a consolidated entrepreneurial experience. She is responsible for Martel’s business acquisition and daily interaction with customers and partners in the international research and innovation scene. As Head of Martel Media and Consulting, she guides, consulting, communication and media services for promotion of next generation digital technologies.

Specialised in Horizon 2020 funding, with extensive domain knowledge in Next Generation Internet technologies, IoT, Intelligent Agents, AI and 5G, Dr. Calisti coordinates several H2020 projects, runs specialised training courses and serves, since 2007, the European Commission as expert evaluator and reviewer in several ICT domains.

In the last 20 years, Monique has been serving as a Program Committee member of several international R&D events and worked on more than 50 scientific publications. She has been member of the Board of Directors for the Autonomic Communication Forum and she has been Member of the Board of Directors of the IEEE FIPA standardization body.

Before joining Martel in 2010, she worked for Whitestein Technologies as Vice President of R&D being responsible for enterprise software products’ innovation, corporate research activities as well as business development, consulting, scientific editing and publishing.

Monique holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy.
